May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month — And School Is Back in Session in Thailand

As May marks Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, it also signals the beginning of a new school semester in Thailand.

This month, the Motorcycle Safety Solutions (MSS) team is in Lop Buri, a province about an hour north of Bangkok, working directly with local schools and students to improve rider safety among young motorcyclists.

In many rural parts of Thailand, transportation options are limited. For thousands of students, motorcycles are not a recreational choice — they are the only practical way to get to school every day.

That reality raises an important question: How can we make student transportation as safe as possible?

Bringing Real-World Safety Solutions to Students

MSS is partnering with three high schools in Lop Buri to provide RideHawk technology to 30 student riders during the current school semester.

Based on previous academic and corporate pilot programs, MSS has already seen encouraging results showing that RideHawk can help reduce riding risk and support safer riding habits over time.

RideHawk is not a “silver bullet,” but through the MSS Total Rider Care System, it provides riders with tools, awareness, and ongoing feedback designed to improve safety behavior progressively.

Why This Matters

Young riders are among the most vulnerable road users globally, particularly in regions where motorcycles are a primary mode of transportation. Programs like this are about more than technology — they are about education, prevention, and building a stronger culture of safety.

Over the next semester, the team will continue gathering insights and supporting students, teachers, and local communities as part of this important initiative.

Looking Ahead

This is only the beginning.
We look forward to sharing updates, lessons learned, and the impact of the program as the semester progresses.

Thank you to the school administrators, educators, and students who are partnering with us to help make roads safer for the next generation of riders.
